| Material Handling and Logistics |
Maher offers the most modern communications and
technical support to ensure secure supplies and the
most advanced equipment for machining, heat
treatment and material testing.
We have specially designated storage areas that
allow us to guarantee availability and supply of
products for special projects or contracts. In some
cases Maher is linked to major OEMs and delivers
quantity and production data directly to their
manufacturing operations. |
| CNC Machining: Turning, Boring, Trepanning and Milling |
Maher specialise in the manufacture of precision piece parts across all industry sectors from its dedicated engineering facility here in Sheffield. We employ a highly motivated team with the skills and experience to produce critical components to the finest tolerances from the most demanding of high nickel alloys.
We have to capability to machine complex components up to 4000mm long and up to 730mm dia, and can offer near net shape or fully machined components. We also have the benefit of an onsite metallurgy team.
Maher can deliver a well engineered package to the customer’s requirements, balancing precision and life span costs. Using the latest Solidworks 3D modelling package, we can accept our customer’s models and drawings.

| Hot Working |
We offer a wide range of open die and closed die
forging and rolling processes from small hammer
forgings to press forgings including close tolerance
rotary forging.
|
| Heat Treatment |
Heat Treatment facilities include computer controlled
solution treatment and ageing cycles for individual
components, with water quenching or air cooling.
Heat-treatment charts are recorded for each cycle
of treatment.
|
| Non-Destructive Testing |
Our on-site facilities include ultrasonic and dye-penetrant
testing. We have recently acquired cutting edge
metrology equipment, the ultra high-resolution
submicron Talyrond 290, offering highly accurate
measurements. Brinell and Rockwell hardness testing
verify heat treatment responses and tight control of
material properties while our staff are qualified to
ASNT level III.

| Sawing |
Four modern CNC controlled bandsaws with the latest carbide blade technology
offer close tolerance sawing up to 530mm diameter.
In addition, our abrasive cutting disc saw provides high speed
cutting of smaller diameters. These combined allow us to optimise
cutting capacity, enabling us to despatch urgent orders.
