Maher Ltd joins the BVAA! - Wednesday 19th May 2010

Over the years, Maher has forged strong relationships with a host of valve and actuator manufacturers worldwide. Through its ongoing supply of both raw material and fully machined valve stems, Maher has been accepted as a member of the British Valve and Actuator Association (BVAA). Established in 1939, the BVAA has over 100 British members and works hard to facilitate growth and profitability in the industry. As well as providing collective representation on issues affecting the valve and actuator industry, the BVAA stands on over 50 different committees debating international industry standards and recommended codes of practice. From its membership, Maher hopes to further enhance its understanding of the industry as well as building closer relationships with new and current customers.

Maher names Official Charity - Wednesday 19th May 2010

In a bid to do our bit in the local community (as well as having some fun in the process!), Maher has adopted an official charity. Based in Sheffield's Children's hospital, the Children's Hospital Charity enhances the work of the hospital through contributing to medical research, specialist medical equipment and improving the environment for the patients and their families. Sheffield's Children's hospital is also one of only 4 stand alone children's hospitals in the country, so is a real asset to the local community. After launching our support with a raffle for an extra day of holiday, Scott Fraser (pictured below) ran the Sheffield Half marathon to support the cause. Now we have a team of nearly 20 employees gearing up to enter the Great Yorkshire Run in September through the streets of Sheffield. If you would like to get behind us and support this great cause, our Just Giving page is http://www.justgiving.com/maherltd
